Dinner, Dinner, Dinner, Dinner, Dinner, Dinner, Dinner, Dinner, BATMAN!

So, on the subject of food, here's the options. I'd prefer to go somewhere more unusual, at the risk of running extra expense.
The main locations for this could be Brazilian, served up by Tropeiro on Argyle Street or Boteco on the Trongate. The other 'exotic' choice is the Mongolian restaurant on Candleriggs. Problem is, I haven't been to any of them so quality isn't guaranteed.
The alternative is cheap and familiar things like a Chinese Buffet on Sauchiehall Streetan Indian on West Regent Street (With a less than perfect site), or a chip shop.

It's up to you guys. Can you have a look at the links and give me opinions? Feel free to give me some other suggestions in comments if you think mine are rubbish. Otherwise, I'll make a sad face.
Ta.

Change in Times

If you noticed the comments on the last post, there was a request to start later. Seeing as there was only one suggestion of a time, we're now starting at midday.

Revised plan for the 7th:

12:00 (ish) - Meet in St. Enoch Square. Wait a maximum of 30 minutes for people being tardy (late without reason. If you contact me and say you'll be late, that's different). There's normally a street market thing in the square, so you'll have something to do if we end up waiting.

12:30 - Cross the River (hiss) and head for the AMF Bowling on Springfield Quay. It's about a 20 minute walk, so ideally we'd arrive for 1 and start bowling. I have no idea how long it will take, because A - I don't know attendance, and B - I haven't been bowling in ages. I've pencilled it in as taking 1.5 hours. It will probably be less, but hopefully everyone will get a gab.

14:00/14:30 - is the time I've planned to have lunch. I'd like to go to one of the more unusual restaurants. There's two that I know of in town serving Brazilian food, and one in the Merchant City that has a Mongolian menu. I also know of a couple of buffet/set menu places and the indomitable Scottish chip shops if people go for the budget option.

I have no way to show the new episode to you. If you have any ideas on how to rectify this, go ahead.

Early Speculation

Hello all.

I've decided that there will be a pony meetup in Glasgow on January 7 2012. Glasgow is currently the largest city in the UK not to have had a meetup yet, so let's address that. There has only been one meetup in Scotland so far, and that's not quite enough. Looking at Pony UK's mapping project, there's a fair few folk in the buckiebelt, so we should have a half decent crowd.

I've got a basic timetable for the meetup, but there's a couple of things to be discussed. First off, everyone's preference for food: would you rather something cheap and bland, or more exotic and expensive. The other thing is if you would like to do anything in the late afternoon/early evening. I've left that slot free at the moment, in case any out-of-towners would like to do some shopping. If there's a strong enough demand, we could fit something else in there. Perhaps a ponyhunt or something.

Anyway, here's the plan:

10:00 (Variable) - Meet in St. Enoch Square. Wait a maximum of 30 minutes for people being tardy (late without reason. If you contact me and say you'll be late, that's different).

10:30 - Cross the River (hiss) and head for the AMF Bowling on Springfield Quay. It's about a 20 minute walk, so ideally we'd arrive for 11 and start bowling. I have no idea how long it will take, because 1 - I don't know attendance, and 2 - I haven't been bowling in ages. I've pencilled it in as taking 2.5 hours. It will probably be less, but hopefully everyone will get a gab.

14:00 - is the time I've planned to have lunch. I'd like to go to one of the more unusual restaurants. There's two that I know of in town serving Brazilian food, and one in the Merchant City that has a Mongolian menu. I also know of a couple of buffet/set menu places and the indomitable Scottish chip shops if people go for the budget option.

The rest of it is unplanned at the mo. I wouldn't like to be seen to be forcing people to stay in Glasgow after dark, because I wouldn't want to. Like I said, some people may want to go shopping, some people may want to go home early because they've got further to go. I don't know. If you'd like to do something after food, do tell me.

If you have any objections to these plans, you think that I've left something out, or you would like to attend, please leave a comment below.
